FESTIVALS IN SCOTLAND – SPOILT FOR CHOICE FOR 2012?
There are many festivals on throughout the UK. We aim to provide you with details of the Scottish festivals in 2012 in the hope that you decide to hire a campervan or motorhome from Caledonian Campers.
KNOCKENGORROCH WORLD CEILDH 31 MAY – 3 JUNE
4 Day event hosted by the knock crew. Celtic music festival located on a farm. it has several venues with music ranging from cabaret to DJs. This is an alternative festival ideal to go to in a campervan. The campervan passes are only £19!
ROCKNESS 7 – 9 JUNE
Clune Farm, Dores. Near Inverness.
Held on the banks of Loch Ness near inverness. The popularity of Rockness has grown year on year. The location is superb for a music festival, just remember to take the midge repellant!
Rockness accommodates campervan and motorhomes, just make sure you buy a campervan pass.
EDEN 15 – 17 JUNE
Raehills Meadows, Dumfries.
Eden is a family friendly festival held across 3 days and be set across 12 stages. Children are welcome. The whole aim behind the festival is to provide a 3 day celebration of music, dance, colour, culture and community built on an ecologicaly sound and carbon friendly set of principles and to exhibit live music hand in hand with stunning decorations and surroundings.
There is a designated area for campervans on site.
T IN THE PARK 6 – 8 JULY
The most well known of the festivals in Scotland. Always a big crowd puller due to the impressive line up’s they achieve.
There is a designated section for the campervans which entitles you to 7m x 7m sive of land for a massive £138.50! There is no water point or waste point provided.
WICKERMAN 20 – 21 JULY
Monumental New York pop stars Scissor Sisters and top Scottish popsters Texas have been revealed as headliners for the Summerisle Stage. Joining them are The View, Levellers, Newton Faulkner, Cast, Kassidy, Bis, Dog is Dead, Duke Special and Mike Skinner (DJ Set).
Family friendly festival providing designated areas for campervans for only £30! They also provide sites with 240 Hook up for £80.
REWIND 27 – 29 JULY
Scone Palace, Perthshire
If you like 80s retro pop then you have found the festival for you. This started in England and due to it’s success they have moved it to Scotland.
Campervan passes are £75 but are sold out! There are campsites within the surrounding area however so you better get booking your campervan in fast.
AFRICAN DRUM VILLAGE 31 JULY – 5 AUG
Glen Isla, Angus
First and only drum festival in Scotland. Celebrates african drumming, music and arts in tranquil Glen Isla in Angus, Scotland.
DOUNE THE RABBIT HOLE 24 – 26 AUG
Doune Castle, Stirlingshire
A three day tea party that is non profit based. A wide mixture of music to suit everyone and lots of freshly baked cakes!
LOOPALLU 21 – 22 SEPT
Small but perfectly formed festival that attracts good names. This is the most remote festival site in the UK with the nearest town being 60 miles away!
